Hunter Malin has enjoyed a diverse practice since 1996.  While he has experience in several areas of law, Hunter’s primary focus has been on three particular concentrations: family law, property law and business law.  Hunter’s diverse experience and practice includes uncontested and contested divorces, child custody issues, disputes amongst business owners, commercial and residential landlord-tenant disputes, general and complex commercial litigation, property litigation, homeowners’ and condo association disputes, securities fraud litigation and other contract disputes.  With more than two-and-a-half decades of experience, Hunter is a skilled negotiator and litigator.   While always hopeful for a reasonable resolution, he will not hesitate to try cases when those reasonable resolutions cannot be reached. 

Hunter started his own law firm so that he could use an outcome-based approach in assisting clients to resolve disputes in his favorite areas of law: family law, business litigation and commercial/residential property litigation.  Some attorneys are skilled technicians of the law.  Other attorneys are passionate advocates for their clients.  Hunter is both a skilled technician of the law and a passionate advocate.

You need an attorney you can trust who will tell you what you need to hear, rather than what you want to hear.  Hunter understands that the best approach to achieving any desired outcome for his clients is to make sure everyone understands the situation at-hand and the available options.  And, when necessary, can have those conversations in a proactive manner, keeping everyone focused on the desired outcome.  He is committed to making sure that any guidance or advice he provides is aimed at putting his clients in the best possible position to either resolve a dispute on reasonable terms or try the case.

Because of Hunter’s approach to the practice of law and the appreciation of his clients, he has been recognized multiple times as one of the top family law attorneys in Northeast Florida by Expertise and by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys.  He has also received the Elite Lawyer Award for Business Law, as well as Divorce and Family Law.

Hunter graduated in the top 10, with highest honors, from the Florida State University College of Law in 1996.  While in law school, Hunter received the top score or second-best score in twelve of his classes.  Hunter was selected by multiple law professors to mentor other law students.  Hunter’s mentoring continued after law school as he was an adjunct professor at the Florida Coastal School of Law, and he has assisted with mentoring several attorneys.  Before law school, Hunter graduated magna cum laude with a degree in communication studies from Florida State University.  Hunter was the valedictorian of his high school class, and also a member of the varsity baseball team.

He is a member of the Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Bar Association.  He enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams, writing, coming up with creative analogies and boxing.
